Commissions

I offer commissions in ceramics, clay-based sculpture, textiles, and natural pigment print. Whether you're drawn to the tactile presence of hand-built clay objects or the softness and texture of layered textiles, I work closely with clients to create pieces that carry a sense of place, care, and material sensitivity. Each piece is made slowly and intentionally using sustainable, often site-specific materials - from wild clay and smoke-fired finishes to cloth dyed with foraged earth pigments and printed with my own plant-based binder recipes.

All commissions begin with a conversation. My practice is rooted in experimentation, circular thinking, and a deep respect for materials. I welcome site-responsive briefs, commemorative or personal works, or collaborative projects that reflect shared values of sustainability and thoughtful making. We can work together to explore ideas, locations, or stories that feel meaningful to you - whether through clay, textile, or a combination of both.

You can see examples of my recent ceramics and clay-based work here and textile and pigment-based projects here to get a sense of my process and approach.

Commission prices start at £250 for smaller pieces and vary depending on materials, scale, and time involved. A clear timeline and quote will be agreed before any work begins. I offer regular updates throughout the making process, including material samples and progress images to ensure the piece feels right to you.

Clay & Ceramics Commissions

Handbuilt. Material-led. Deeply connected to place.

Every clay commission begins with a conversation. I take time to understand what draws you to my work - whether it’s the tactile quality of hand-dug native clays, the smoke-fired surfaces, or the emotional weight of something made slowly and intentionally. My process is guided by raw materials and often involves sourcing local or meaningful earths, sometimes incorporating ashes, sands, or clay samples from a specific location to create something site-responsive.

Depending on your needs, we might develop a commemorative object, a small sculptural form, or a larger, more complex piece for a specific space. I can also work with symbolic gestures, such as returning clay to water or allowing materials to shift naturally over time. Pieces are shaped instinctively by hand - never cast - and finished through burnishing, smoke-firing, or beeswax polishing to enhance the material’s voice.

Clay or ceramic commissions can take between 2–10 weeks depending on scale and complexity, and I will keep you updated throughout the process with photos, samples, and any questions. I welcome collaboration and curiosity and am happy to explain the making processes if you’d like to understand more about how the work comes to life.

Textiles & Print Commissions

Earth-stained, hand-dyed, and stitched with care.

My textile commissions are rooted in sustainable practices and material experimentation. Each piece is created using natural pigments - such as ochres, clay, or earth-based dyes - often combined with traditional textile processes like quilting, hand-stitching, and screen printing. I use my own handmade print binder recipes that are entirely plant-based, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind and environmentally conscious.

Whether you’re looking for a wall hanging, a quilted artwork, or a soft sculpture, we can work together to create something that responds to your story, space, or values. I can incorporate fabrics you already own or that hold meaning (such as old garments or household linens), or source organic cloth dyed with pigments from a place of significance.

Together, we’ll define a palette, form, and size - and I’ll guide you through the possibilities for layering print, texture, and stitch. These works take time: depending on the scale, textile commissions may take 6–16 weeks. I’ll send updates, samples, and tests so you feel part of the journey. No two pieces are ever the same - each one emerges through slow, tactile care.
